Our Beautiful Blue Planet

Since spacemen first breached gravity’s embrace,

we’ve imagined a blue sphere

with wisps of white and green

suspended in an inky black void.

 

It’s a chimera—

an impossible dream we’ll never achieve.

 

Our reality is a world mired in chaos,

heading for a tipping point we may not survive.

Keep that picture of our beautiful blue globe in mind—

it may soon be nothing more than a whispered memory.
